PSG's dynasty rolls on
Paris Saint-Germain enter 2026-27 as champions of France for the fifth season in a row — a record-extending 14th title, won in 2025-26 with 76 points ahead of Lens (70), Lille (61) and Lyon (60). And they're not just the domestic champions: PSG are the reigning UEFA Champions League winners, having beaten Arsenal on penalties in the 2026 final, as part of a remarkable five-trophy season under Luis Enrique, who continues in charge.
A reshuffle among the chasers
If anyone is to challenge PSG, several of the contenders will do it under new management. Marseille appointed Bruno Génésio, Lille brought in Davide Ancelotti (son of Carlo, in one of his first senior head-coaching roles), and Monaco named Filipe Luís. Lyon's Paulo Fonseca stays on. It's a genuine managerial carousel at the top of the French game.
Who's up, who's down
Promoted from Ligue 2 are Troyes and Le Mans — the latter back in the top flight after around 16 years away. Nantes and Metz were relegated, while Nice survived by winning the relegation/promotion play-off.
