Inter defend the Scudetto
Inter enter 2026-27 as champions, having won the 2025-26 Scudetto — their 21st — with 87 points. Behind them, Napoli (76), Roma (73) and Como (71) completed the top four, with AC Milan and Juventus taking the Europa League places and Atalanta the Conference League spot. Title-winning coach Cristian Chivu stays at Inter, who open the new season at home to newly promoted Monza.
A managerial merry-go-round
The off-season's biggest story was in the dugouts of the chasing pack. AC Milan appointed Rúben Amorim (June 16, 2026), the former Manchester United manager, to lead their rebuild. Napoli turned to Massimiliano Allegri (July 3, 2026, on a three-year deal) after Antonio Conte departed. Juventus (Luciano Spalletti) and Roma (Gian Piero Gasperini) carry on as before.

Promoted from Serie B are Venezia (champions), Frosinone and Monza (via the play-off) — Monza back after just one season down. Cremonese, Hellas Verona and Pisa were relegated.
